Are you a landowner or land steward who was affected by the July floods?
Join us for an in-depth workshop designed specifically for landowners looking to become more active in the restoration of their property. Together, we will learn how to restore the health of your creek or riverbank (riparian areas), support healthy plant growth, and build your property's resilience. This hands-on workshop is in partnership with Steve Nelle, Natural Resource Specialist and Wildlife Biologist, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Upper Guadalupe River Authority, and the Riverside Nature Center. Special thanks to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country for supporting the purchase of seed and plant materials for impacted landowners.
The Hill Country Alliance is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the natural resources of the Texas Hill Country, including: land, water, dark night skies, and strong communities. If you're an affected landowner interested in learning more about riparian stewardship, join us and our partners to take steps towards the long-term recovery of the Guadalupe River.
Attendees will learn from local and regional professionals on the best management practices along riparian areas. We will provide a mix of native seeds and potted plants specifically chosen for the disturbed areas along the Guadalupe River Basin in Kerr and Kendall Counties. Due to our limited space and plant materials, we kindly request that participants commit to planting the provided materials along their stretch of river or creek before registering. Future workshops will allow for a broader audience, and we look forward to continuing the conversation.
We'll be hosted by an impacted landowner along the Guadalupe River, and will provide the event's address and more information as we near the event date, November 14th.
